Dog friendly wedding venue in Derby

Introducing our wedding co-ordinator Robyn as she tells you all about a recent photoshoot:-

As a wedding planner and avid pup lover when Michelle from Hurley’s Wedding Day Dogs approached me asking if she could use The Kedleston Country House as a backdrop for her photo shoot I couldn’t say yes any faster.

The Kedleston is an entirely dog friendly wedding venue in Derby so it fit in perfectly with the concept behind Hurleys wedding day dogs. For many couples their dogs are like their babies, and to be able to have them primed and pampered for their special day is so important. Here at The Kedleston we like to make sure every guest (hounds included) is well looked after and feel at home on such an important day. Which is why we allow them with you for the whole day, whether that’s just for the “I do’s” or all the way through to the last dance. And yes, your pup is welcome to stay overnight with you.

Hurleys Wedding day dogs is a small but well-loved family business which began in 2014 as a pet chaperone & grooming service, fast forward 2 years and with a well established client base they ventured into the wedding industry offering something no one else has before. Michelle and her partner own a gorgeous Border Terrier, the infamous ‘Hurley’ who is featured in the pictures. As a small business they understand the importance of making sure that any dog not only receives good care, but the best care, from correct handling to endless fuss and love.

They offer an innovative chaperone and dog grooming service, collecting your beloved pet and safely accompanying him or her to your wedding venue. Whether it’s for photographs or to have a four-legged ring bearer, they do it all and relieve you of the stresses completely. Michelle will walk them and dress them in lovingly handmade bow ties from the talented Hufton Hound and Home or indeed, a floral collar! They even offer overnight boarding. Every aspect of their service is tailor-made to suit each individual dog and wedding perfectly.

Here’s a few words from Michelle herself;

“When we arrived at The Kedleston for their Supplier evening, I was completely in love with the venue from the get go!

From their rather handsome dog statues proudly sat outside the entrance, to the Plum & Ashby hound print decor – it couldn’t be more dog friendly! I knew instantly that this was the perfect back-drop for our Wedding Day Dogs shoot and both the stunning building and it’s surroundings certainly delivered!

The Kedleston allowed us to get a variety of different photo’s; from the chic bar area inside, to the grounds it overlooks.

Couples will be spoilt for choice when it comes to their big day images, I know we all were.

A big thank you is owed to Robyn & team for providing us with everything we needed to ensure the day went as well as it did. It’s safe to say that I, along with all of the other suppliers involved, had a blast!

Anyone still looking for a Midlands venue really need to spend a few hours at The Kedleston. You won’t regret it!”

We were astounded with the dedication from all of the amazing suppliers on the day. From the stunning gowns, flowers and jewellery to the even more stunning model Rebecca.

When we found out Ed Godden from Ed Godden Photography was involved we were so excited, Ed’s a complete photographic genius and one which we’d trust any special occasion with. We cannot thank everyone involved enough.
