A Bright Future

We are pleased to announce that Derby Brewing Company (owners of the Kedleston Country House) have conducted a full review of The Kedleston and made major changes to ensure that customers have a positive experience with us, every time.

We have welcomed three key new members of the leadership team: Stephanie Bolas is in place as the new Manager of the Kedleston, Adam Keeling as Head Chef and Georgie Hayes as Wedding and Events Coordinator. This team will be guiding The Kedleston into a bright future with positive leadership, and with the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Stephanie has extensive management experience, specialising in weddings and events. Her previous post was at De Vere Oxford Thames, but she jumped at the opportunity to return to her home in the Midlands and be able to put her own stamp on the Kedleston Country House. ‘I instantly fell in love with the chic vintage style of the Kedleston Country House and couldn’t resist the opportunity to help drive this venue that has such a rich history forward into a bright future. The Kedleston holds a special place in the hearts of many local people and I look forward to welcoming them back to enjoy our events, or hosting their own very soon. I am passionate about establishing our place within the local community and also hope we can increasingly work together with other businesses for mutual benefit.’

Georgie Hayes has joined the team as Wedding and Events Co-ordinator. Georgie has grown up close to the Kedleston and is passionate about event planning. As well as coordinating the current weddings and events Georgie is working with the marketing team to produce new wedding packages and guides to help prospective couples through what can be a daunting project. Georgie says, ‘Planning your wedding should be a happy and exciting experience, however we know it can become stressful as often people have limited time to be able to focus on it so we want to make it as simple and smooth a process as possible. We are building a list of trusted suppliers that we can recommend so customers are confident that everyone involved in their special day is experienced in their field and also familiar with our team and venue. We’re also working on a special wedding planning guide that will help couples through the whole planning process from the moment they book their wedding with us at the Kedleston Country House, right through until the day of the ceremony, and beyond.’

Award winning chef Adam Keeling has joined the team as Head Chef. Adam was the senior sous chef at the Dragon at Willington for over five years before moving to the Crab and Boar in Chieveley where he worked his way up to Head Chef. For the past two years he has been a freelance chef consultant for new and established restaurants in Derbyshire. He has a passion for using locally sourced high quality ingredients. The restaurant will now be open Friday nights, Saturday all day and Sunday daytime offering Champagne Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner and Sunday Roasts. The lunch and dinner menu will be the new and ever-changing ‘Taste of the Weekend’, Adam’s carefully curated offering of the week’s finest produce, reflective of the current season and local availability. Adam has refreshed the champagne breakfast and afternoon tea menus to add his own special Kedleston twist.

While the bar will remain open throughout the week, the weekday restaurant service will be dedicated to private events such as wakes, birthdays and business meetings, alongside a new calendar of events which includes a wide variety of activities to attract all ages, tastes and budgets. The events planned for the Spring and Summer include monthly Classic Car Meets, The Kedleston Book Club, Chelsea Flower Show inspired floral masterclass, Wimbledon Finals Pimms Party, Summer Solstice Ball and Wedding Open Weekends.
